This workshop introduces teachers to a Climate Engineering teaching module, developed by IU climate scientists and veteran high school science teachers, is designed to educate students about the scientific, engineering, and sociopolitical aspects of climate engineering. The module includes lessons, activities, and experiments to provide students with fundamental knowledge about technologies designed to deliberately cool the planet and mitigate some of the worst effects of climate change. Workshop participants will gain the content knowledge needed to confidently teach their students about the scientific, ethical, political, and economic implications of climate engineering.
