Indiana University hosted its first K-12 Student Geoengineering Summit on April 25, 2025, welcoming about 125 students from schools across Indiana to campus to share their own ideas for addressing climate change.
After working through classroom lessons on geoengineering, students presented poster sessions of informed-design solutions and discussed them directly with IU climate scientists and graduate students. The summit was a collaboration among IU's Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, School of Education, and Environmental Resilience Institute, with support from 2892 Miles to Go.
